JO BOALER is a professor of mathematics education at Stanford University and co-founder and faculty director of youcubed. She serves as an advisor to several Silicon Valley companies and is a White House presenter on girls and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The author of seven books, including Mathematical Mindsets, and numerous research articles, she is a regular contributor to news and radio in the United States and England. JEN MUNSON is a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University, a professional developer, and a former classroom teacher. She received her PhD in mathematics education from Stanford University. Her research focuses on responsive, equitable mathematics instruction. CATHY WILLIAMS is the co-founder and the executive director of youcubed at Stanford University. Before working at youcubed, she was a high school math teacher and worked in mathematics curriculum and administration at the county and district levels in California.

This is the best approach to teaching math that I've seen in more than ten years in education. Improves number sense, fluency, cardinality, etc in a fun and engaging way. Clearly presented activities to help students at all skill levels.

2 stars for ebook edition. Paper edition would be 5 stars. Bought ebook to get home help ideas for supplementing my grandsons 3rd grade math curriculum. I would not recommend buying ebook as I cannot copy worksheets that are used in the lessons. With a real book the pages would be copiable. Ebook not as useful for lessons as the paper copy of the book. Lessons are interesting but depend on worksheets.

I’m so excited to take my students’ mindset and learning to new heights. After attending the summer workshop, I was eagerly awaiting this book’s release. Amazon did a great job in shipping it right on July 31st. Thank you!

The book is an easy read. All of the information in the book is easy enough to understand. The diagrams are easy enough to read.

This book is extremely helpful to someone who wants to pursue a career in PR. Basically became my bible, graduating with my Bachelors in PR, I hope to be just as successful in my field.

Excellent book -and so glad I purchased it. I really appreciate Ronn's honesty and candid storytelling. You will learn much from his experiences and tactics. Wish I worked for 5WPR -hopefully someday I will meet this genius of a man.

Kind of full of himself, and it became quite clear that his personal political leanings are very far too the right, very pro-business/anti employee - anti-union, so... I no longer care what he has to say.

This is a business book focused on the Public Relations industry; an industry that considers anything in a book as old news. Wait...this is old news in the new world order, driven by social media, by the time information is on the TV news it is old news; making anything in print positively ancient. Ronn Torossian is a veteran of the PR industry and the founder and CEO of 5WPR one of the more aggressive agencies in the PR marketplace.What does all of this mean for a book review? Well you have to consider the environment Ronn is writing about prior to making a judgment about the book he has written. This book is not a "how to", as in after reading this book you could perform the PR function and expect to be competitive. This is a book to understand what goes into PR and if you have a significant role in a major corporation, are "Public Figure" or "Brand" then this will help you to understand what a PR agency can do for you; from shaping your imaging to helping you through a crisis. Is this book for everybody? No.I am a regular reader of Ronn's blog so when he published this book, I looked forward to the opportunity to obtain a copy and read it. Ronn is good at what he does and that is Public Relations. My conclusion on this book, if you are in the market for a PR agency read the book. If you are not sure if you should be in the market for a PR agency read the book. If you are neither then don't read the book.

As a small PR firm I'm always looking to learn new things from more established, bigger, PR power houses. I buy tons of books, attend events and mingle at every turn... this book is among the best I've found about how to use public relations most effectively to deliver results. Examples interweave real-life, first-hand, experiences, including: Muhammad Ali on The Sopranos, Camp Bow Wow, and Carnival, among many others. But to me the most inspiring was how 5WPR founder and CEO, started in a teeny tiny office all by himself and is now one of the largest PR firms out there. It's like the little engine that could... but with a PR spin. I highly recommend this book!

Just started reading this book. It seemed much more interesting and resourceful than it is. Sorry, but I guess that was a waste of money and time...

This book makes clear that public relations encompasses more than entertainment and big business. Any individual who wants to be successful in business needs to understand that "image, quality and consistency" are vital threads that support their efforts. Mr. Torossian, writes with flare and ease.
