This book is filled with the ideas for more than 30 parties and more than 250 recipes. There are full page photos and a ribbon marker to keep your place.The photos show the party settings and tables and bouquets that one could only hope to duplicate. Directions are really not given, except in brief instances on how to make the centerpieces or even decorate the cakes. Even if you did this all yourself, these are not budget settings, but lush celebrations. One could take this book to a florist or a baker and hope that they could copy the results.There are menus and recipes and gift suggestions for your guests, decorating ideas and directions for good table manners. Many of the recipes are quite good, especially the shrimp and scallop lasagna.An index of the parties is included, divided into brunches, buffets, dinners, etc.. There is also a regular index detailing recipes.Parties are divided into the 4 seasons with birthday, graduation, Easter, anniversary, Christmas, Valentine Brunch among those included. Following the seasonal parties is a section for wedding celebrations, the engagement, showers, wedding parties and reception.In total it is a lovely book for rich ideas to celebrate.
This is a beautifully done book with gorgeous photos. There are some great recipes that I have tried, and the food photos help me know how it is SUPPOSED to look. There are tips for all occasions, not just weddings. It is classy, a real keepsake, and a nice gift.
