McEvoy & Zarate's Introducing Stephen Hawking (ISH) is as clear as clarity gets. I came to it well read in the history of science in general and of mathematics and physics in particular as well as all manner of out-of-date textbooks with all the pain that such reading entails. Though to read is not to comprehend, the bit of light that trickles through is a keen pleasure. Habit being a daunting foe as well as a mightily generous friend, I am slowly but surely clambering onto a seat whence I can read physics and poetry with near equal bewilderment and illiteracy and innumeracy. It helps to love staring at text--even in letters or ideograms that look like bad jokes.ISH is not only easier and clearer than Paradise Lost or the Iliad, it covers larger ground in a tenth the length of either. The book has nailed in place for me all the primary images from Sig. Galileo to Hawking. Git the book, read it, and you'll experience a similar gratitude to the one I have toward McEvoy & Zarate. And, Hurray for Great Britania for her obsession with Introducing... (I ain't no Brit either. Not by a long shot)

Not only did I find this book very interesting but I learned more about black holes than I knew before. It is relatively easy to understand (the illustrations are helpful) and no mathematics. Good for anyone interested in cosmology and Hawking.

I like this book because it remind me of a comic book. It was really interesting to read and I am not a science person at all.

This book has a comic book feel to it which makes it enjoyable, easy to follow, and hard to put down. This book is perfect for visual learners and makes it easy to relate to. Definitely recommend this book for class or just to expand ones own knowledge, its really a great book!!!

I read this book as a science work, not as a promotional biography. As popular writings of modern physics go this is a rather good account of modern cosmology. The author has a physics background thus making the science fairly honest. The writing is linear with ample asides to bring the reader up to speed on important concepts. The brevity of the writing bespeaks compatification, not loss. The problem is that Hawking wants to win the Nobel Prize something fierce. The author is out to lend his support to a fellow Britisher by publishing this unabashed Nobel promo (the closing pages give a summation of why Hawking should win the big one). As far as the cartoony format goes the caricatures seem to be directed at those physicists and religious figures (generally dead) the author wants to relegate to supporting roles to the great one. If you can get around these prejudices you will find a good read.

I was a bit reluctant to like this book when I first read it because of its abundance of cartoons that appeared to be quite cheaply drawn. It also belonged to part of a larger series of 'Introducing' books and I'm always reluctant to like those because they always seem to be directed towards making a profit rather than providing good information.Contrary to my first impressions, the book was actually fairly good and informative. It covers a good part of Stephen Hawking's life as well as some background in fundamentals of physics so you can grasp some of his ideas. Although soem cartoons are completely gratuitous others actually provide extra clarification on the ideas expressed. The book gives a very broad overview over Stephen Hawking's ideas. Specifically his theories concerning black hole radiation. Some stuff was a bit hard for me to grasp (atleast to understand all the little details was near impossible) but the book illustrates the general ideas very well :)

I liked learning about hawking but disliked spending too much time and detail on physicsI am more about bios and history than technology

Easy to understand, quick introduction to Hawking and cosmology. I've never understood the discoveries of Einstein et al as clearly. Leaves the mind to wander, but also moves at a nice pace.

Review

‘Ferocious and astonishing. Essential for a Britain lost in sepia fantasies about its past, Inglorious Empire is history at its clearest and cutting best.’ (Ben Judah, author of This is London)‘Brilliant … A searing indictment of the Raj and its impact on India. … Required reading for all Anglophiles in former British colonies, and needs to be a textbook in Britain.’ (Salil Tripathi, Chair of the Writers in Prison Committee, PEN International, and author of The Colonel Who Would Not Repent )‘Tharoor convincingly demolishes some of the more persistent myths about Britain’s supposedly civilizing mission in India … [he] charts the destruction of pre-colonial systems of government by the British and their ubiquitous ledgers and rule books … The statistics are worth repeating.’ (Victor Mallet Financial Times)‘Tharoor’s book ― arising from a contentious Oxford Union debate in 2015 where he proposed the motion “Britain owes reparations to her former colonies” ― should keep the home fires burning, so to speak, both in India and in Britain … He makes a persuasive case, with telling examples.’ (History Today)‘This book burns with the power of intellect married with conviction … this is erudite, well-written, thoroughly documented and persuasive history that focuses varied sources into a coherent critique of colonialism in the Indian context. Tear up your copies of Ferguson’s neo-liberal mind rot and get angry like Tharoor.’ (Christopher Kremmer Sydney Morning Herald)‘His writing is a delight and he seldom misses his target … Tharoor should be applauded for tackling an impossibly contentious subject … he deserves to be read. Indians are not the only ones who need reminding that empire has a lot to answer for.’ (Literary Review)‘Those Brits who speak confidently about how Britain’s “historical and cultural ties” to India will make it easy to strike a great new trade deal should read Mr Tharoor’s book. It would help them to see the world through the eyes of the … countries once colonised or defeated by Britain.’ (Gideon Rachman Financial Times)‘Well-referenced and full of fascinating facts, quotes and anecdotes, Inglorious Empire is a scorching indictment of British rule in India, and of British imperialism more broadly.’ (Green Left Weekly)‘Inglorious Empire is a timely reminder of the need to start teaching unromanticised colonial history in British schools. A welcome antidote to the nauseating righteousness and condescension pedalled by Niall Ferguson in his 2003 book Empire.‘ (The Irish Times)‘[A]t once a moral indictment and a moralistic polemic, both intended to expose the ‘‘totally amoral, rapacious imperial machine’’ the British devised to plunder India.’ (Mark Thomas Canberra Times)

It is true what the books says about what the British did to India, but the book does not properly mention the role that Indians played in bringing the British to power in the first place. British did not come in and impose their will on the Indians, they merely exploited the jealousy, the corruption, and the cruelty of Indians towards their own people. Such a large population of such heroic character did not fall to merely a few thousand British. Indians themselves made it happen to their own people and land.

There are umpteen reasons I found the book uninspiring. To list a few...(1) The British were occupiers and not partners. History all over the world has shown that occupiers are there to exploit and loot not add value.(2) Why blame the British for the archaic legal system they left behind e.g. the Indian Penal code, adultery, homosexuality etc. What has stopped the Indians from changing it. What the British created suited them then as occupiers.(3) The author says " I dont mean to blame the British alone for the persistance of these injustices" while referring to the laws.....really??? As Indians we have to take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming "the foreign hand"(4) The author could have been better off using simple Engish for a book and not a Englsh for a debate....I had to keep referring to the dictionary!!I can go on an on...but all in a OH NO!!!

Sushi Tharoor is a wonderful writer with a great grasp of why India is the way it is today. Because of this book, I have a much better appreciation of India and it's people.

Brilliant novel backed by extensive research and knowledge. I finished the book feeling I now truly understood as I have always believed, that empire while it may claim to have many positives really can never be so for the indigenous peoples.

In my estimation, Tharoor has probably done the best job of eviscerating the argument for British Colonialism in India. His use of facts and figures to dispel the humbug of benign colonialism and the “white man’s burden” is probably the most effective that I’ve come across. Combine that with an eminently readable style and you have a book you cannot put down till you finish it! This book should be a part of history curriculum in both British & Indian schools & Universities.

Excellent Book! I ended read it asking Why, how did the India Society/Culture/ NOT the good juzsys Religion (Hindu) survived! The good juzsys religion destroyed the Culture/Language of people in the Land they arrived 500 years ago! But Not on India!

This book is a must read for anyone who really wants to know about the reality of British colonialism. It tears away the mask of British colonialism as having been beneficial.

Wow....there was alot of stuff mentioned in this book that you never get taught in school. I'm first generation indian born in America. This book will definitely make you woke. It is sad what the British did to India to make it such a powerful nation at the time. It is sad that India was powerful at one point and the British drained all of her resources when they took over all the way to partition. The colonial past of India should never be forgotten and every Indian should read this book.

Athearn Prize of the Western History Association "Turning up a surprising amount of hitherto hidden material and talkative survivors, Brown writes a vivid, often hair-raising history of the great plutonium factories and the privileged cities built around them... Readers will squirm to learn of the high radiation levels workers routinely experienced and the casualness with which wastes poured into the local air, land and rivers... An angry but fascinating account of negligence, incompetence and injustice justified (as it still is) in the name of national security." --Kirkus Reviews (starred review)"An unflinching and chilling account." --Seattle Times"Harrowing... Meticulously researched... Plutopia has important messages for those managing today's nuclear facilities, arguing for caution and transparency." --Nature"The book tells two intertwined stories. One is an appalling narrative of environmental disasters... The second narrative is about the towns, the townspeople, and the creation of a spatially segmented landscape that enabled those disasters... This is admirable comparative history." --Carl Abbott, Environmental History"Fascinating." -- Dissent"One of the Cold War's more striking perversities never made it to public view. ... Brown is a good writer, and she describes with precision the construction of the two sites (a difficult process in the U.S. case, an unbelievably horrid one in the Russian case), the hazardous occupations undertaken by their inhabitants, and the consciously contrived bubbles of socioeconomic inequality both places became." --Foreign Affairs"Brown's account is unique, partisan and occasionally personal in that she includes some of her thoughts about interviews she conducted... But because she is open and thorough about her sources, those are strengths to be celebrated, not weaknesses to be deplored. It also means her book is engaging, honest and, in the end, entirely credible." --New Scientist"An amazing book... Brown found many parallels between Richland and Ozersk that disrupt the conservative Cold War dichotomy between the 'free world' and the totalitarian one. Her research included not only uncovering previously secret documents in both countries but also tracking down and interviewing old-time residents of Ozersk and Richland. Her picture of the treatment of plutonium workers on both sides of the Iron Curtain is enough to make you gnash your teeth or cry." --Jon Wiener, American Historical Review"Arresting, engagingly narrated... Kate Brown skillfully mixes Cold War policy assessment and associated political intrigue with sociological study of the lives of those who lived and worked in those places... Plutopia is history told through the voice of drama and investigative reporting." --Stephen E. Roulac, New York Journal of Books"Plutopia is reporting and research at its best, both revealing a hidden history and impacting the important discussions about nuclear power that should be happening today." --Glenn Dallas, San Francisco Book Review "An untold and profoundly important piece of Cold War history, Plutopia invites readers to consider the nuclear footprint left by the arms race and the enormous price of paying for it." --H-Soyuz "Kate Brown has written a provocative and original study of two cities -- one American, one Soviet -- at the center of their countries' nuclear weapons complexes. The striking parallels she finds between them help us -- impel us -- to see the Cold War in a new light. Plutopia will be much discussed. It is a fascinating and important book." --David Holloway, author of Stalin and the Bomb"Kate Brown has produced a novel and arresting account of the consequences of Cold War Nuclear policies on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Interweaving documentary research in government archives, reviews and revisions of the public record, and a host of personal interviews with the citizens -- perpetrators, victims, and witnesses -- Brown's Plutopia makes a lasting contribution to the continuing chronicle of the human and environmental disasters of the atomic age." --Peter Bacon Hales, author of Atomic Spaces: Living on the Manhattan Project"It may be the best piece of research and writing in the nuclear history field in the last 25 years - perhaps the best ever... Extremely impressive." -- Rodney Carlisle, Prof. Emeritus, Rutgers University, author of Encyclopedia of the Atomic Age

Both the United States and the Soviet Union built Plutonium manufacturing plants and their supporting cities. This book talks about the building of these plants, the elite way of life of the scientists and technicians that lived in these cities compared to their other country men, the nuclear accidents and disasters that contaminated the surrounding countrysides, and the long term adverse effects still taking place today.

This book is well-researched and written. It is a rather long read, but the parallels between the US and Russia development of making plutonium for atomic bombs is so interesting. The history of the companies in the US that managed the plant in Hanford, WA is also enlightening. This book depicts a lot of racism and disregard for human life, so that might bother some readers. I still have many pages to read, but feel the book will remain interesting to the end. I highly recommend this book for those that know little about the production of plutonium here in the US and in Russia during the 1940s to early 1950s.

Kate Brown has done the almost impossible, using vast files of information long classified in America and the former USSR to plumb the depths of the secrecy and the cover-ups involved in the pursuit of plutonium for weapons production. While some Americans as well as Russians dispute the accidents and cover-ups, one can only surmise that they were so patriotically blinded by their participation as to deny anything which besmirched their remembrances of the programs and their lives in the secret cities. Some of the evidence, to be sure, is anecdotal, however Brown has managed to document her assertions and is to be commended as a brave historian for attacking an investigation into a part of history that many would wish to remain unknown. Having spent a good part of the past 20 years traveling in Russia and seeing the fear of contemporary Russians that the walls still "have ears" demonstrates the degree of difficulty Brown must have had to gain the confidence of people there in telling this story, not to mention similar challenges in the U.S., particularly among people still residing in and near Hanford.

The production of plutonium is a oft-forgotten piece of the global conflicts which have long shaped multiple societies. In this refreshing inquisitive work, Kate Brown illustrates that the tragedy and ingenuity wrapped up in this colossally dangerous process should never depart from any related narrative. The book carries an activistic tone, but at the same time reliably articulates the histories of two (surprisingly similar) communities, Richland in Washington State, and Ozersk in the Ural mountains. Brown intricately illustrates how, as radiation mutated bodies and landscapes, the production of plutonium mutated cultures.Brown constructs local histories which weave together into an intriguing global tapestry. Well worth reading.

This book is an interesting, illuminating read that details the negligence of American and Russian government nuclear programs and their reckless dumping of radionuclides into unwitting nearby communities. This book does an excellent job documenting how the US and Russian governments "handled" the exposure of their citizens and their various attempts to ignore and bully sick workers and citizens into quiet submission. If you are from an Eastern Washington family and you wonder why half of the people in your family over the age of 50 have had thyroid cancer.... tragically this book might be of interest to you.

I have worked on Hanford issues for 25 years, helping whistleblowers, sick workers, and trying to influence the cleanup to go in a productive direction. I have also been to many of the former Soviet nuclear sites, including Mayak on five different occasions. Kate Brown's book captures not only the history, the stories, and realities, but poses some interesting and insightful perspectives on the two cities and bomb factories. She has pulled together a huge amount of information and distilled it into a readable, interesting book which all of us who live in the nuclear age should read.

I felt sorrow for the thousands of citizens suffering for the cause of paranoia due to the US and Soviet governments. This book and others I have recently read made me realize, as a child of the 1950's, the depth of the deception the US Government displayed.Disappointing in some respects as this book just adds to my distrust of our government. In light of current events, Snowden et.al. this book illustrates how much we need to keep an eye on our (the US Govenment) leaders.

The government doesn't really care about the people's health. They will reward a few contractors and people, turn on the PR machine, but really everyone is cannon fodder.

Serious technical errors starting on page 1. Blockchains are described as a doubly linked list. This is wrong. There is no way to link to the next block because you don't know what it will be when creating a block. This error continues on page two showing a block header with a "next_block_id" and "prev_block_id". Again there is no way for a miner to know what the next block will be. This is more than a minor error. It shows a fundamental misunderatanding of how blockchains work and is a huge red flag.

Normally don’t post things related to my field - but this is an exception. Just completed first read of an excellent book covering the use of the blockchain and how it is used in business law. The book was written by Joseph Bambara - a person that I have been fortunate to work with over the years. He is both an accomplished attorney and software engineer-scientist/manager/entrepreneur and author of numerous books in the field. His new book does an excellent job in demystifying how the next generation of contract law and agreements are being implemented today and in the future. First rate overview of blockchain evolution and its underlying concepts.

This book is highly recommended as it explains and covers Blockchain in a way that works really well for technicians and non-technicians alike. The authors take the reader through the many steps of building a Blockchain application from beginning to end, with real application code listings that become excellent samples especially to the technically inclined readers. This book examines the benefits of the Blockchain platform while also covering its most commonly known applications those being cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is not a book that just introduces and gives a light covering of the topics, there is much greater depth and discussion of each and every aspect of the Blockchain and how it can be applied to commerce, government, and legal entities. A must get

This is one of the best overall books the deal with the implications and considerations the blockchain represents to your business. Today we are being smothered by all the potential major applications blockchain might replace, but there many instances where its use cases are more specific and limited by existing laws and business protocols. My field has significant regulatory and patient security oversight -- so I was not looking for a "How To" book--.This book offers an exploration by team of reputable, prolific computer security scientists that discuss practical applications for the blockchain. I found tremendous value in Mr. Bambara's commentary related to the applicability and utility of the block chain as it pertains to my business. I value his opinions as a Technologist General Counsel with experience infused by work with the Federal Reserve sector point of view. Mr Bambara is a very popular lecturer and one of the few public proponents of blockchain in the financial sector that understands how this valuable tool can be implemented with the right safeguards and appropriate use case.

Found this book boring and confusing. Sorry. It seemed for me like the book was written by attorney and primarily for another attorneys using attorney-specific language. And spiced up with some random technical details for solidity.

As a practicing attorney I became interested in knowing how blockchain technology will effect the practice of law. I did not expect to learn code applications or build a blockchain. This book gave me a complete and easily understood overview of blockchain technology. Chapter 4 answered many of my questions regarding regulation of cryptocurrencies by the government, and gave me a working foundation of understanding smart contract technology. The diagrams helped me visualize how the technology works in the real world' This book is easily understood by those with even a limited technology background but is also detailed in its technological explanations sufficient to provide a guide to working technologists. I will recommend to all my attorney colleagues to put a copy on your desk . Hillary L Brower, ESQ

From dreaming of Olympic gold to living the Olympic dream; from practicing her signature on the living room wall, to signing autographs for so many young fans with a similar vision as her own, Aly's journey to Olympic success is one of incredible determination, persistence, heartache, and triumph. But this book is not just about Aly overcoming doubts, both from people around her, and her own inner doubt—we are given an emotional tale chock-full (or should I say chalk full ;-) of heartfelt guidance and encouragement so eloquently intertwined within her story—how all people, no matter their age or what their story, can find happiness, compassion, and peace within themselves despite living in a world full of fierce judgment. A must read for anyone looking to create positive change.

I didn't finish it yet but... it's great! It's really really great!Aly Raisman is so brave to write honestly about her experiences in gymnastics. It is people like her who have the courage to take a stand for what they believe in that are going to change the world, impact lives, and hopefully change sport. This book is unique in that it is not another "fluffy" athlete book. Parts of it are upsetting, devastating, infuriating... disgusting. Raisman even talks about the culture of USA Gymnastics and how they neglected their athletes. Hopefully the culture of the organization will change to be kinder, healthier, safer, and more human than it has been in the past. With these positive changes I could see American gymnastics reaching heights never before seen or dreamed possible.

Hopefully Aly's story will encourage other girls to stand up for themselves and what's right. Especially interesting in light of all that's happened with the sexual abuse of gymnasts at all levels of the sport. It left me with a lot of questions as far as how USA Gymnastics treats their athletes. Bought it for my 11 year old niece who is taking gymnastics lessons, competing, and loves Aly Raisman

This is one of the best gymnastics books I've read. Aly is honest and real in this book. It was refreshing to read an honest account of an Olympic gymnast's experience since so many of the other Olympic gymnasts' books are full of fluff and material that isn't believable.

This book was excellent in every way. Aly was real, genuine, humble and totally honest in being vulnerable to her readers. I had no idea how hard gymnasts have to work to be at her level. I recommend this book to all as it has such a clear message of hope.

Aly writes a poignant tale of her rise to gymnastics and personal success. Gratitude and humility pour over the pages. The courage she displays while being vulnerable about her insecurities, fears and even survivorship of abuse is inspiring. Aly's passion and positive attitude serve as a reminder that our youth are our brightest asset for a better future!

"Fierce" by Aly Raisman has quickly become one of my favorite books. A memoir of sorts, "Fierce" is written from a first person perspective and outlines the life events and experiences of Olympic gold-medalist, Aly Raisman. From childhood memories of Olympic dreams to finally sticking one last Olympic floor routine, Aly Raisman engages the reader by inviting them into her journey from not-so-talented child gymnast to one of the most well-recognized athletes in the sport. But "Fierce" goes far beyond Olympic achievement and the sport of gymnastics; "Fierce" tells an amazing story of an incredibly driven, hardworking, and passionate individual, determined to use her platform as a means for bringing positive change to the world. Within the pages of "Fierce", Aly shares intimate details of her life, discussing topics like mental health, body positivity, and child safety.I could go on, but I think it'd be best if you just went ahead and bought a copy yourself. Overall, I give this book a 5/5 stars and would honestly recommend it to anyone (gymnastics enthusiast or not).Note: If you're interested, on the opposite side of the dust jacket (the paper part of a book that wraps around the outside of a hardcover) is a poster of Aly on what I believe to be Day 6 of the 2016 Rio Olympics (dimensions, approximately 8.5 in by 20 in). I've attached a photo of what it looks like hanging up.

Ms Raisman did an outstanding job of showing the reader what it takes to define your goal and the ups and downs of accomplishing it. She was very professional in describing the devastating times. This is a 'must-read' for kids as well as adults. Awesome family support all the way!!

ANNIE ON MY MIND was first published in 1982, the year I graduated from high school. At the time, it was one of the only LGBT books in print and was widely banned in libraries and schools. In 2017, Nancy Garden's book is dated in both writing style and societal views. Although I had a gay uncle, I never knew anyone my age who was out until I graduated from undergrad and moved to a larger city. ANNIE ON MY MIND was a HUGE deal and one of my favorite books. I was thrilled to see it become available for Kindle.Younger readers should view ANNIE ON MY MIND as accurate historical fiction, because so much has changed in thirty-five years. Rereading the story gave me a real sense of nostalgia, pre-electronic immersion, but also when fear and hate were the norm.

In an age where less than 1% of young adult books have gay, lesbian, transgender, or bisexual characters, it is important to promote the ones that are out there. In a time when it was considered extremely taboo, teenaged Liza finds herself falling in love with another girl, her vivacious new friend Annie. Told from Liza’s point of view, Annie On My Mind illustrates the development of their relationship, the confusion that Liza feels over her newly discovered sexuality, and the turmoil that comes as a result of being caught in the act of making love at a teacher’s house. Though this book was written over 20 years ago, I think that young adults would still find it relatable, and the material didn’t feel overly dated when I was reading it. Above all, the emotions ring true and give the book real authenticity. It is an unfortunate truth that the vast majority of books with romantic plots deal with a guy and a girl, and it’s really a shame that aren’t more that embrace other kinds of people too. Homosexuality is a very touchy and controversial subject for a lot of people, for whatever reason, and young people may not always feel comfortable asking others about different sexualities and lifestyles. That is one of the many reasons that it is important to have books that show other kinds of people and other ways to love. We’re not all cookie cutter people, so why should the characters in books be? Annie On My Mind tells a very lovely and realistic story with good characters and a satisfying ending.Maybe the story of Liza and Annie will help others who may find themselves confused or struggling and assure them that they, too, are normal and loved and things can work out positively no matter what your sexual orientation might be. Or, you know, maybe the story will just be an entertaining read for anyone. As a reader, I appreciate a well-told story with good characters, period. In Annie On My Mind, the two girls are fully realized characters who never fall into stereotypes. Their love is so charming and sweet that it was a delight to read.Highly recommended.

This is a bittersweet story of young love, but more than that it is a story of self acceptance in the face of a world that is sometimes hostile. The portions of the story about Liza and Annie's developing relationship are beautifully told and the retrospective style of the writing prepares the reader well for the less pleasant aspects of the story. It is also rather nostalgic, as someone who grew up back then, in the days before cellphones and the internet, when you had to talk to your crush from a phone tethered to the kitchen wall and deal with whichever of your family members who happened to pop by during the conversion... Not to mention calling them from a payphone at your college dorm... Been there... Done that... It's rough! Lol!Highly recommended!

When I first started to read this I was very confused about why it started the way it did, but as I read on it was more on about Liza’s view of the past before coming to the present once she realized she was free. The emotions were really emotional the love and the fear Annie and Liza had and then the judgement that she was getting. But over all after hearing the story about Nancy( the author) and what she went through made it all come together. And the very end of the book made complete sense and the love that Annie and Liza have make extremely happy

Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden is an extraordinary story. I read it in one sitting. The story is very honest and real. Considering the time period this story was written, readers will find it refreshing to discover a happy ending in the mist of love, pain, decisions, and self-discovery and acceptance. A coming of age story that everyone should read whether you are gay, straight, bi, or whatever. The fact that this book has been banned from many school libraries, the more reason to read it.

This was a book that opened my eyes to the issues facing those who fall in love with those society deem not appropriate. The book shows that love is just that, love, but in cases like this, the people have a harder time and more obstacles due to societies view points and ideas.

Annie on My Mind by Nancy Garden has always been one of my favorite books. I'm not sure whether that has to do with the fact that it's the first LGBTQ book I ever read (and actually liked) or if it's because of Garden's captivating details & dynamics. Either way, this novel will make you feel all warm inside. Liza & Annie's story is real, intriguing, & beautiful. It will remind you of your first love, and it will bring back so many memories that you haven't thought of in a long time (especially if you're like me and are only 17).The only issue that I ever had with this book is that there was never a sequel written about Liza & Annie, and I've always wondered what happened with those two. Though I guess the ending does reveal a little, but my mind is a curious one & will never be satisfied. So no, you will not be dissapointed if you read this novel. Rather, the opposite.
