A summary of the review on StrategyPage:'Appearing a decade after the prior edition, this fourth version of Clodfelter’s massive reference guide to modern conflicts extends coverage down through 2015 and includes extensive revisions to much of the older material. Entries for each conflict range from brief summaries to multi-page essays offering extensive details on forces involved, casualties, and so forth. As is the case with all such works, there’s more war and conflict than can be covered in one volume. Clodfelter sometimes stretches the meaning of “war†or “armed conflict", e.g.with an entry for the 1844 “Nativist Riots†in the U.S., while covering some important “colonial†wars with a line or two, and wholly missing the 2004-2005 campaign by Bhutan against an invasion by Indian radical Maoists. Despite this, on the whole Clodfelter’s effort is excellent and far more inclusive of non-Western conflicts than most similar works.'For the full review, see StrategyPage
On pg 746, it lists the Battle of Kobani. The battle began on the 15th/16th of September 2014, not the 20th of September, as stated in the book. The Iraqi Peshmerga did not come into Kobani on the 23rd of September, bringing themselves from Iraq into Syria, as the book says (they were brought in at the end of October, but as a force providing heavy weapons to the YPG). In the Kobani excerpts alone, I think it is safe to say wikiepdia is more correct and has better citation sources than this book. I would not trust its other articles.
