It was a good introduction to neocofucianism with good references but it is too superficial without giving brief background information.It may be too much to ask some Korean references.

It focuses on Neo-Confucianism, which (very roughly) aims to develop a compelling Confucian worldview and life philosophy while appropriating the best insights found in the Buddhist and Daoist traditions. The authors bring Neo-Confucian ideas about the patterns that structure the world and the ways we can cultivate good lives (among others) to life and they make it fun to think about how the parts of these Chinese worldviews hang together. Anyone interested in Chinese thought will benefit from the book. If you are like me, you will finish with a desire to dig into primary texts and understand some of the more detailed debates. Their map of the concepts that structure Neo-Confucian views has also already helped me re-read works by Chinese and Korean Buddhists with a new level of understanding. Highly recommended!
